Cancer charity appoints advisory group

Cancer patients and health staff who treat them are being invited to have their say over how research projects get financial backing from the charity Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The organisation is looking for people to join a new advisory group to help them allocate the £6m annual research budget. Trustee John Abram said: “The new advisory group will bring an extra dimension to the decision-making process in line with the charity’s strategy to focus even more strongly on spending our money on projects that are closely aligned to patient benefits and with an emphasis on people living in Yorkshire.”

Volunteers need to have had direct contact with cancer in the last five years and an understanding of the basics of science behind research. Those interested should call 01423 501269 or email [email protected].
