Exam teenagers get free revision help

HUNDREDS of teenage pupils in Leeds are being offered free revision days in the run up to this year’s GCSEs.

The classes in maths, biology, chemistry, and physics will take place at Carrwood Business Park from this weekend.

The initiative is being funded by the private tuition company Leap Education, and by Carrwood Business Park.

Leap Education’s director, Sid Mansoor, a former chemistry teacher, said: “Private tuition is a luxury that not everyone can afford and we want to extend this opportunity to everyone.

“We are a socially responsible company and believe in giving back, and we’re eager to improve the academic results within our community.” Mr Mansoor also aims to widen the project across West Yorkshire.

He said: “We want to change the lives of at least one thousand children by the end of the year.

“If May’s revision classes are a success we’ll be offering similar classes throughout West Yorkshire by the end of the year.”

The all-day sessions run from May 7 to May 15.
