Book a tour of Pudsey Grammar Sixth Form ahead of the opening of a new £4m extension next year
Pudsey Grammar is a popular choice for families in the area who are looking for an excellent Post 16 experience.
Now, with a £4million investment from the Department of Education, there’s another important reason for choosing this Sixth Form.
The new extension, which will bring an eight-classroom Sixth Form building with offices to a site adjacent to the school, is due to open in 2024/25. That means this year’s Sixth Form intake will not only be supported by an excellent curriculum which delivers results and excellent teaching and pastoral team but also the latest facilities to help them grow.
It welcomes pupils from around the city, and is the second most over-subscribed school in Leeds.
It is hugely popular with families looking for a solid foundation from Year 7 onwards and is the only 11 – 13 provider in the West of the City.
Rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, the Sixth Form’s popularity is growing – it has expanded over the last four years from 150 pupils to 250 as more and more make it their primary choice.
Why choose Pudsey Grammar?
The A-Level years are arguably the most important two years of your child’s education. At Pudsey Grammar, the expert teaching which has helped hundreds through their GCSEs is extended to help drive academic success but also to nurture and enrich students. As well as investing in bricks and mortar, including the recent addition of a dedicated study space, the school continues to expand investment in teaching and support staff too in order to facilitate the best possible outcomes for students.
Enrichment and support
For Year 12 and Year 13 students, 1-2-1 Form Tutor meetings are held at regular intervals where progress is reviewed, support is given and targets are set to reach ambitious goals.
The Sixth Form also arranges an interesting array of guest speakers to inspire pupils to stretch their ambition and potential. These encompass everything from high ranking judges and CEOs of major companies to internationally renowned journalists and TV script writers.
Outside the classroom, the enrichment programme develops life skills and community work, helping prepare students to be well-rounded and engaged members of society.
Spaces at the Sixth Form Open Evening on Wednesday, October 18, from 17.00 to 20.00pm, must be reserved – book your space here
