York Against Cancer opens new support centre
York Against Cancer is celebrating the opening of its new cancer support centre.
More than 60 visitors were welcomed to the centre, in The Leveson Centre, at York Community Stadium in Huntington, in its first week. Guests included York’s Prostate Support Group, which had not been able to meet for the last three years due to the covid pandemic.
Julie Russell, chief executive of York Against Cancer, said: “We are thrilled to open the doors of The Leveson Centre, offering a space for cancer patients and support groups to meet again, after a challenging few years.”
