Sustainable design earns supermarket its green credentials
The store in Illingworth, Halifax was designed by Bowman Riley Architects and the engineering consultancy AECOM in Leeds acted as BREEAM assessor.

Hide AdStephen Haestier, project architect, said: "One of the most innovative aspects of the design was the use of an energy panel solar air heating cladding system on the south faade. It works by pre heating the air before it is brought into the building, reducing the CO2 used in running the store by up to eight tonnes a year."
