Recession fears grow in the UK
The vast majority (85 per cent) believe the European debt crisis has put the country’s economy in danger and more than half (59 per cent) are already cutting back on spending in anticipation of another plunge into recessionary gloom, according to the poll by ComRes.
Almost three-quarters (73 per cent) said they were worried that another recession would have a severe impact on them and their family, while just 13 per cent said they would not expect to be affected.

Hide AdThe results, to be broadcast on tonight’s ITV News at Ten, showed an even higher number (77 per cent) believed the crisis proved the UK was right to stay out of the eurozone.
A similar number (76 per cent) said they thought the European debt crisis had been badly managed by Europe’s political leaders.
But fewer than one in five (18 per cent) believed Britain should contribute more money to help solve the eurozone’s financial crisis, if it would help avoid another recession.
