£150,000

ECOPROPAGATOR, a newly launched equity-based crowdfunding platform based in Yorkshire, is seeking to raise £150,000 to fund the growth of the business.

The Doncaster-based business, which is targeted at the green sector, said it has launched its first funding round via a separate crowdfunding platform known as Crowdcube. Ecopropogator hopes to hit its target of raising £150,000.

David White, chief marketing officer, said: “The funds raised will go towards additional local staff and overseas expansion. We have chosen Crowdcube as our crowd funding partner as we see them as a partner moving forward helping each other’s platform grow.”

Ecopropagator links ‘sophisticated’ investors to clean tech projects needing backing via its online crowdfunding platform. The firm charges a fee on final funding pots, but it also drives revenue by offering business support services.

Mr White said: “We want as many people as possible to share in our success, and as we are a Yorkshire based company we want to open up our offering to Yorkshire people first.

“Since our a launch a few months ago the number of projects have grown a great deal – what is really interesting is the funding requirements of these projects now range from £300,000 to £15m.

“It is clear that the demand for funding in clean tech both here in the UK and overseas is massive and is set to go in one direction – upwards.”
