Mechanics set on road to their dream

IT'S a dilemma which faces many mechanics when they want to set up their own business empire.

Where do you find the funding to get started?

Three former RAC mechanics have solved that problem and formed their own enterprise in Leeds.

Moorfield Garage, in Yeadon, has been formed by directors Richard Hunt, Paul Senior and Kevin Campbell. The three men have been backed with a 60,000 Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) loan from NatWest.

Mr Hunt said: "We are all big car enthusiasts and have a wealth of knowledge to bring to this business. We're over the moon that we've been able to set-up independently and are certain we can provide an unrivalled service to our customers. It's great to be doing something I'm passionate about on a day-to-day basis.

"We're keen to grow the business and hope to be in a position to create more jobs in future."

Paul Wheelwright, relationship manager for NatWest, has seen the deal through to completion with the provision of the EFG loan.
