Farndale Store, in the beautiful hamlet of Low Mill, Farndale, is launching this spring, and is now recruiting for their key member of staff.

The shop will be open all year-round, working hours negotiable, championing local and regional produce as well as selling hot snacks and coffee on site. The new manager will become part of the community, and will help transform Farndale Store into the heart of the area through their passion and engagement.

The location is in the middle of the national park, and attracts visitors all year round, not least of all for the beautiful daffodil walks in spring. The shop will be a hub for the local community, and a vital resource for tourists in the area all year round.

The ideal candidate

Farndale Estate, which is opening the store, is looking for someone with previous retail experience, excellent customer service skills, a firm understanding of food safety regulations and a sound grasp of financials. The role may suit a couple who are prepared to share the shifts between them. Hours are negotiable.

What does the role involve?

As well as working in the shop – where creating an enjoyable customer experience is key – the new manager will deal with all customer queries, maximise sales, do the stocktaking, ordering and replenishing, work to budgets, handle cash and ensure the shop is fully HR, food safety and health and safety compliant. The shop will be open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 6pm.

A place to call your own

This is more than just a job, it’s a new home too. The manager’s position is live-in, and comes with a stunning two-bedroom home created in a beautiful, newly converted old farm dairy. It’s been finished to a high standard, with one of the double bedrooms complete with an en-suite, a separate bathroom, a large open plan kitchen and living area, a separate utility and WC, and a garden. There’s even parking for two vehicles.

The full package

As well as the stunning live in accommodation, there’s a salary of between £18,000 and £20,000.

A spokesperson for Farndale Estate said: “This in an exciting new project. The store will open for Spring, providing locals and visitors with daily essentials; as well as takeout treats.”
