Leeds-based Caledonian Leisure purchases historical Scottish hotel

Leeds coach holiday and short break operator Caledonian Leisure, which operates under the Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways brands, in partnership with its investors, has announced the completion of the purchase of the historic Claymore Hotel in Arrochar, Scotland.

The hotel, which has origins as a grand manor house to the MacFarlane Clan, is positioned on the banks of Loch Long and offers 96 bedrooms and two restaurants with live entertainment.

Following the acquisition, the hotel will be rebranded as The Caledonian Claymore Hotel.

In July of this year, Caledonian Travel posted an annual turnover of £40 million for its first full year of trading.

The firm also noted that it had seen a surge in coach trip bookings brought on by a boom in “staycations”.
