Friends launch online fashion venture

Dawn Hunter and Victoria Reddington, both 26, from Barnsley, decided to launch www.fashionpony.co.uk with the idea of giving women clothes that suit all their moods without the worry of bumping into someone wearing the same thing.

The pair, who have previously worked in the retail and marketing industries, have signed up seven designers from across the region, and the site includes about 10 independent labels. In the longer term they plan to sign up more new and emerging designers to add to the collection.

Ms Reddington said: "We always knew we would eventually go in to business together. Since we were youngsters, we have been passionate about fashion and it has been something that has always tied us together."

Ms Hunter added: "Above all, we want our business to be fun – we've always shared the same sense of humour and if you add that to fashion and friendship, it's a good starting point for any business."
