Ecology launches social mortgage
THE Ecology Building Society, which is based in Silsden, West Yorkshire, has launched a mortgage package for community-owned shops, which it hopes will help to tackle the lack of services and isolation in rural areas.
The mortgage is available to organisations that are members of, or receiving advice from, the Plunkett Foundation, a national organisation which supports the development of community-owned shops in the UK.
