Director reward for the man behind Cerberus’ city office

ASSET management and debt recovery management provider, Cerberus Group, has made Richard Parkin a director two years after he joined the company to set up its Leeds office.

Mr Parkin was already well known among insolvency practitioners, lenders, law firms and accountants within the region when he joined Cerberus, having spent 20 years in the sector.

His remit was to develop these relationships further, and group director of Cerberus, Simon Merrett, said his promotion is well deserved.

“As an ambitious and forward-thinking group part of our strategy is to increase our presence in the UK with the opening of additional offices outside our North West heartland,” he said.

“We chose Leeds for our first office, as it is the UK’s main financial, legal and business services centre outside London.

“Richard was the perfect person to head up the office as he is extremely well-respected in the marketplace and has raised our awareness dramatically within Leeds and surrounding areas.

“He continues to build an excellent reputation for the group which, in turn, has contributed significantly towards the growth and success of Cerberus.”

Mr Parkin said: “Cerberus was already known in some quarters for delivering effective advice and solutions in the recovery of distressed assets and debt.

“My job is to ensure more people know about our skills and expertise.

“The Leeds office has the backing of a great team of more than 100 people who have in-depth knowledge of asset appraisal, valuation and realisation, as well as credit, risk management and recovery.”
