Culshaw's awards return

JON Culshaw is making a welcome return to present the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards.

The impressionist – who most recently starred in BBC One's The Impression Show with Culshaw and Stephenson – will be master of ceremonies at this year's event, which takes place in October.

He joins George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who is headline speaker.

Time is now running out for entries for this year's awards, which celebrate the best companies in the region.

The main categories are Young Business of the Year, sponsored by Yorkshire Forward; Companies with a turnover under 10m, sponsored by Yorkshire Bank; Companies with a turnover between 10m and 50m, sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Companies with a turnover of more than 50m, sponsored by DLA Piper.

The other categories are Best Company to Work For, sponsored by Bradford University School of Management; YP Young Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by O2; SME Manufacturer of the Year, sponsored by the Manufacturing Advisory Service; Innovation of the Year, sponsored by Drax, and Exporter of the Year, sponsored by thebigwordGroup.

The Yorkshire Post will also present an individual award for excellence. Previous recipients include Victor Watson CBE and Sir Ken Morrison, who joins this year's judging panel with Paul Fullerton, the Bank of England's agent for Yorkshire and Humber.
