Consumer body names new chief

THE Consumer Finance Association (CFA) yesterday revealed that it had appointed Russell Hamblin-Boone as its new chief executive.

Mr Hamblin-Boone was previously head of communications at the Finance & Leasing Association, where he reformed the organisation’s internal and external communications function.

CFA president Caroline Walton said: “We are delighted that Russell is joining the CFA and believe that his experience and skills will significantly strengthen the CFA as we implement our new enhanced codes of practice and continue our work to raise the standards of the industry.”

Mr Hamblin-Boone will take over the chief executive position from John Lamidey at the end of August, when Mr Lamidey’s contract as a consultant with the CFA ends.
