Bõl food range gets £1.25m Lloyds funding

former head of food at Innocent Paul Brown has secured funding from Lloyds Bank for a new range of healthy easy-cook meals.

The bank’s Commercial Banking Yorkshire mid markets team provided working capital facilities worth £1.25m to Powder Bowl Trading.

The newly-founded business is led by Mr Brown, who led Innocent’s food division since 2008.

It has launched a range of 10 veg and noodle pots under the Bõl Foods brand, which is stocked in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

The launch follows Innocent’s announcement in March 2015 that it would cease food production to focus on drinks.

Mr Brown said: “Bõl’s plan is to constantly innovate and push the boundaries – the world is full of incredible dishes we can take inspiration from and make part of our range.”
