Asda CEO takes on senior role at BITC

Business in the Community (BITC) has appointed Andy Clarke, the president and chief executive of Leeds-based supermarket chain Asda, as the Prince’s Ambassador for responsible business in Yorkshire and Humber.

Mr Clarke is one of a national network of Prince’s Ambassadors working with National Ambassador Marc Bolland, the chief executive of M & S.

He said: “Asda and Business in the Community stand for the same important values so I’m looking forward to representing responsible business as the Prince’s Ambassador for Yorkshire and Humber. Being a part of local communities and acting with integrity are in the very fabric of Asda – we want communities and the people who live in them, including colleagues and customers, to have the opportunity to be the best they can be and we always look to help support projects that will improve the areas we serve.”
