Appointments: New KPMG tax director moves over from ‘Big Four’ rival PwC

KPMG has appointed Philippa Sanderson as a tax director. She joins from PwC and brings over 13 years of experience and her in- depth knowledge of the Yorkshire market to the Leeds-based firm.

Chartered insurance broker Wilby has appointed three new members of staff, from national brokers. The firm, which is based in Halifax, has appointed Andy Lee as an account executive. He has more than 12 years experience and joins from Towergate.

Lynne Noble, also an account executive, joins from Marsh Insurance Brokers while Andrew Voice, a chartered loss adjuster with more than 19 years experience, arrives from Marsh.

David Robinson has taken up a new post as account manager at promotional and business gifts supplier Steel City Marketing. He will be based at the company’s Sheffield headquarters. He previously worked in promotional giftware for a company based in Chesterfield.

Network support and IT company Blue Logic has appointed six new team members. The company, based in Thorner, Leeds, has appointed search engine optimisation specialist Matt Shaw, senior account manager James Burnand, web developer Craig Willis, telesales executive Ashleigh Pearson, technical engineer Tim Hall and accounts assistant Sarah Mills.

Ernst & Young has appointed Sean Bottomley as director to lead its pensions team in Leeds ahead of major changes in legislation. Mr Bottomley joins from PwC with ambitious growth plans to double the team of six over the next three years.

Commercial law firm Watson Burton in Leeds has appointed property expert Tracy Hall as head of real estate.

Ms Hall has over 20 years experience in commercial property law, working for firms such as Eversheds, Short, Richardson & Forth and more recently Cobbetts, where she played an integral role in the provision of regeneration, public sector and real estate services from the firm’s Leeds office.

Chartered surveyor Edward Hewetson has joined George F White Chartered Surveyors, working in its Bedale office. He has spent the last nine years working for Bidwells in Norfolk.

European patent and trade mark attorney Appleyard Lees has appointed Harrison Chang and James Myatt as trainees in its electronic and chemical teams. Mr Chang will be based in the Manchester office while Mr Myatt will split his time between the Manchester and Halifax offices.

The Sheffield office of patent and trade mark attorney Withers & Rogers has appointed Sarah Tomlinson as an associate attorney. She previously worked at Mewburn Ellis in London.

Harrogate law firm McCormicks has appointed Peter Minnikin to its corporate crime and risk unit following his qualification as a solicitor. He joined in 2009 as a crown court clerk before completing his training.
