Another cracking set of performances at Bingley festival

THE festival season may be coming to a depressing end, also signalling the end of a rather uninspiring British summer, but there was still time for one last donning of the wellies before their winter retirement.

Bingley Live rolled back into town for the fourth year and it continues to snowball in the music community.

There is little wonder why. This is a great location packed into the spanning fields of the West Yorkshire countryside that may not be known to many of you outside of the Bradford postcode.

More than 15,000 people enjoyed the sunshine, varied musical menu and, quite frankly, fantastic organisation.

First up, the free Friday night gig saw the Buzzcocks joined by the highly- impressive Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. A cracking start to proceedings.

On the Saturday it was straight in there with a band who will surely stamp their name on the musically astute this year – Sound of Guns. This Liverpool fivesome are destined for big things and this could be the year to do it.

The highlight for many though were headliners James, still fizzing with energy and rocking the stage as if it was still the 90s.

Sunday had a lot to live up to but I give you Hadouken, Seasick Steve and The Enemy. Nothing like saving the best to last, is there?

An absolute hum dinger of a weekend and for the money excellent value and a real alternative to the Leeds Festival. I look forward in anticipation as to what 2011 will conjure up.
