The draw for the first Pocklington six-a-side tournament took place at Lord’s on the second day of the first Test against the West Indies. First team skipper Matt Atkinson travelled to Lord’s to meet with two legends of the game, Gladstone Small and Colin Croft, to draw the teams.

Stamford Bridge second XI travelled away to Leeds to play Whitkirk and came away with a resounding win built around a fine unbeaten 79 from Dr Roddy Vann and a five-wicket haul from captain Ollie Pimlott.

Pocklington CC Under-13s defeated Drax in their second match of the season and showed a lot of character in doing so.

Both sides earned maximum batting points when Sessay had the better of a draw at Dunnington. There were Hambeltonian half-centuries from Matt Till (53) and Jacob Spencer (60) and further valuable contributions from Nick Thorne (37) and Nick Hamson as Sessay posted a total of 235-9.
Woodhouse is washout
‘Anyone for water polo?’ was the cry at Woodhouse Grange Cricket Club last weekend. All four of the club’s Saturday league sides had their games abandoned due to heavily waterlogged grounds. The club has yet to bowl a ball in earnest this season after three successive weekends have now been washed out.
York Senior Cricket League centenary
The Hunter’s York and District Senior Cricket League’s representative team will take the field in a brand new strip on 16 May when they meet the RAF Under-25 side at Sheriff Hutton Bridge for an 11am start in the opening game of the league’s centenary programme.
