Cricket legends back Pock

The draw for the first Pocklington six-a-side tournament took place at Lord’s on the second day of the first Test against the West Indies. First team skipper Matt Atkinson travelled to Lord’s to meet with two legends of the game, Gladstone Small and Colin Croft, to draw the teams.

Stamford Bridge second XI travelled away to Leeds to play Whitkirk and came away with a resounding win built around a fine unbeaten 79 from Dr Roddy Vann and a five-wicket haul from captain Ollie Pimlott.

Stamina challenge for runners

The second leg of the YDRRL 10K series of races took place in Tadcaster on a cool and, largely, dry evening. The course includes a couple of steep hills which challenged the season stamina of the 233 runners.
