Problems on the railway between Leeds and Shipley have caused major delays for commuters this morning.

A track circuit fault at Dockfield junction, affecting the ability to move the lines, was detected at around 7.15am.

That was compounded by a broken rail near Shipley.

Numerous Northern Rail services between, Leeds, Shipley, Bradford and Ilkley were cancelled.

A temporary fix meant some were able to resume, but with a fixed speed limit, while a bus service was put on to replace other services.
