MARKET Weighton slimmers are supporting a former professional footballer on his mission to cycle round all the Premier League stadiums in the country.
Former Hull City player Steve Moran is undertaking the 1,400-mile challenge to raise money for muscular dystrophy research after he began dating Market Weighton resident Hayley whose son Connor Lancaster suffers from the disease.
The group at Market Weighton Slimming World have got behind Steve’s campaign and are carrying out a 12-week sponsored slimathon alongside his cycle ride to raise even more money for the cause.
Steve aims to cycle a lap of the pitch at every stadium visited and will pick up a signed shirt at every club on the way,
He will also visit the clubs he played for during his career; Southampton, Leicester City, Reading, Exeter City and Hull City, as well as stopping off at Wembley to pick up a signed England shirt to be auctioned for charity.
Money raised from Steve’s challenge and the Slimming World sponsored slimathon will be split between several Muscular Dystrophy charities.
