A COME Dine With Me-style event will be held for people in the Wolds to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity’s Pocklington and District Committee are launching Come Dine For Us, based on the TV show, for the second year running and are calling for all budding chefs and food lovers to take part.
This year, Macmillan Cancer Support is celebrating it’s 100th birthday and the committee are hoping people will get behind the event to help celebrate the centenary.
Margaret Clarke, chair of the committee, explained: “Last year the Come Dine For Us idea was a great success and raised over £1,000 for people affected by cancer.
“We are hoping that people who took part last year might enjoy taking part again, and other people may like to get involved.
“The idea behind Come Dine For Us comes from the television show. Throughout the summer months, we are encouraging people to hold dinner parties.
“It’s entirely up to the host how the dinner party should run. We’re suggesting that guests could make a minimum donation of £10 each, and they could take along a bottle. Cheaper than a night out.”
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical and financial support and pushing for better cancer care.
