Beverley Food Festival was awarded the Best Local Food Event by the East Yorkshire Local Food Network in 2013 and has been a finalist in Visit Hull and East Yorkshire’s, Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourist Attraction category for the last two years.

Established in 2006 by Beverley Town Council, it now attracts around 20,000 visitors.

Running alongside the food festival is the Beverley Real Ale Festival, organised by Ale Festival UK, which has become widely recognised as a top regional event.

It moved to the Memorial Hall in 2013, and will again be held in the newly refurbished venue. The move to link the Beverley Real Ale Festival to the same weekend as the Beverley Food Festival last year was a huge success and provided the town with a weekend destination event, which was great for local tourism.

Festival organiser James Harper said: “Beer and food is a match made in heaven. With the popularity and increase in new, complex and interesting brews there is no reason why you can’t match a pint of your favourite local ale with some locally sourced good food.

“It was great last year listening to customers talking about the ales and ciders they had tried and raving about the Food Festival and the great produce they had tried and purchased.

The food festival, which gets underway at 10am, is free to attend and it promises to be a real family day of food festivities and fun. A number of the chefs giving demonstrations at the
