The first individual win came easily for Charlotte Palmer in the 13 years and under 100 breaststroke, closely followed by Luke Huffington in the 15 years and under 100m butterfly.

Other wins of the evening came in from Julia Laws in the open 100m freestyle, Jedd Jackson in 11 years and under breaststroke and Rachel Curnow in the 15 years and under freestyle.

There was much anticipation as the gala reached the freestyle relay stage. But there was no need for concern as the boys 11 years and under team of Peter Smith, Jedd Jackson, Huw Jones and Adam Falkingham finished in first place. They were followed by both 13 and under teams - boys, Andy Redmore, Daniel Cleaver, Gavin Thomson, Ryan Rudd and girls, Heather Curnow, Kirsty Salmon, Lucy Eade and Alice Willoughby.

Other members of the squad swam well against tough opposition, earning a respectable 52 PBs and three club records. The final scores were: Pocklington 125pts, South Hunsley 117pts, Knottingley 108pts, and Rossington 93pts.
