Oxfam Crusaders retained the John Smiths Pock 7s title as 23 sides produced some great rugby to defy the conditions on Good Friday.

The winners, a bunch of schoolmates from Norfolk who formed a sevens side to raise money for Oxfam, retained the Fowler Trophy, beating Newitts Centurians, who are attached to Darlington Mowden Park, by 22-5 at the end of a great but damp day.

In the Plate Final, Old Tritons, from Nottingham’s Trent College where former Pocklington, Otley and Ionians centre Guy Hope is in charge of rugby, beat The Three Feathers, a team of Ampleforth old boys, 15-0.
