Three qualify for Hull’s pro-am competition

Another bumper field turned out at KP to battle it out for three qualifying places in a Pro-Am competition to be held at Hull Golf Course .

In Division One, Dom Huzzard looked to have wrapped up his qualifying place with a two under par 38. However, he saw his prize cruelly snatched away as Mick Brennan recorded a birdie and two pars on the final three holes to pip Dom by a point. Division Two was also a close run thing. A run of five pars on the back nine for Steve Bibby cemented his place for Hull, although he nearly managed to throw it away on the last as a six on the 18th left the door open for Tony Martin and Tom Saunders. Tony could do no more than par the last two holes, leaving him just one point shy of Steve’s score. Tom will be kicking himself as he dropped two shots at the 16th and 17th which left him three shots off the lead when nett pars would have seen him through.

No dramas in Division Three, however, as Matt Richardson left everyone trailing in his wake with a stunning score of 46 points. Matt’s score has seen his handicap cut from 20 to 17 and he hopes this is not the end of his progression this season as his Dad has promised him a new set of clubs if he gets down to 15.
