Pocklington Tennis Club is revving up for another busy season of enjoyable and competitive tennis. As usual, Club members have been playing throughout the winter on the astroturf courts, but the season starts in earnest from the beginning of April.

Club nights start from 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from Monday 31 March. Anyone interested in joining is very welcome to come along from then on, for an evening of social tennis, and to find out more. The Horsley Trophy club tournament will again launch the season on Sunday 27 April, 1pm start – it’s a fun afternoon’s tennis for players and supporters alike.

The club is again entering a range of teams in the Driffield League: five Mixed, four Ladies, and three Mens; plus teams in the York and Fulford weekend leagues – so we need lots of players! Anyone who would like to be considered for the teams is more than welcome to come along to the practices and be up for selection by the team captains.

Match practices for Driffield League matches start Tuesday 1 April (Tuesdays Mixed, Wednesdays Ladies, Thursdays Mens), with matches starting on Tuesday 29 April.

The Junior members will be busy too, ably guided by Club Coach Matt Ward with dedicated sessions, coaching and matches in the Driffield League. Matt and his team run coaching for players at all levels, junior and adult alike, both group and individual sessions – so plenty of opportunities to brush up on your strokes and match play.
