York & Hull Medics...........................0
The youthful Panthers got back to winning ways with another high scoring performance against the Medics at Percy Road.
Centre Ed Rook charged over for an early score, then livewire scrum half Mikey Davies shot in and rumbustious number eight Marcus Britland crashed over as the Panthers pulled clear. Young centre Jake Bishop beat two men on a 25-yard sprint to the line and the Panthers just about had the game wrapped up at 20-0 at the break.
They continued to impress in all phases with the forwards driving strongly in the mauls and their incisive backs, well prompted by the elusive Tim Drew, making big inroads into the medical students’ defence. Britland galloped into the corner and Davies also got a second score as he darted over.
As the Panthers made a raft of replacements they also showed the strength of their bench as Harry Allen and Ben Hardy-Rollins both came on to make an immediate impact. Hardy-Rollins soon crossed for a try and Allen also got in on the act, touching downwide out after an impressive bout of handling throughout the team and taking over the kicking duties to add two conversions.
