Marathon tasks ahead

Over the winter months many Pocklington Runners have been pounding streets and treadmills to build up their endurance and stamina so that they can take on the 26.2 mile challenge of the marathon.

This year, 30 marathons entries have been made by members of Pocklington Runners. The first event takes place in Hull on 8 April, with other runs taking place in London, Paris, Manchester, Strathern and Edinburgh.

Club members running, some of whom are pictured, are Emma Barker, Deborah Cahill, Steve Eastoe, Drew Gill, Richard Ginn, Helen Pickersgill, Patrick Piggott, Mike Pullon, Richard Ramshaw, Darren Reevell, Simon Rycroft, Gary Tebbutt (all running in Hull). Marcus Bourne, Giles Brighton, Jill Dowson, Liz El Jassar, Richard Ginn, Jim Holding, Nicola Jenkins, Alan Kendra, Simon Richardson, Paul Sheridan, Adele Shipley, Alison Thornton, Steven Worth (all running in London). John Dodson runs in Paris and Tracy Baty, Sarah Hargreaves and Di Thompson in Strathern, with Sharron Anderson taking on Edinburgh.
