After a record-breaking 2015 season, Beverley Racecourse has announced its fixture list for 2016.
Racing on the Westwood, which is undergoing considerable investment over the winter months, gets underway with an afternoon meeting on Wednesday, April 13.
There is another packed afternoon of racing on Thursday, the following week, as the season gets into full swing.
One of the first dates many race-goers will be checking for is Ladies Day, one of the hottest social event of the summer in East Yorkshire, and it takes place on Wednesday, August 10.
A new event for 2016 is the Rio Rio Carnival Race Night on Monday, July 18, with the Latin theme being part of a countdown to the summer’s Olympics in Brazil.
Another addition to the calendar is the Party on the Pasture on Friday, July 1, with Party on the Pasture with live music, entertainment and thrilling racing as dusk falls.
Regular favourites which will be returning include the Very British Raceday, on Saturday, May 28, featuring the prestigious Brian Yeardley and the Hilary Needler trophies.
There is Bank Holiday fun at the family-themed May Day Raceday on Monday, May 2, and the Laurent-Perrier Evening of the Horse, which blends exquisite champagne and fine horses is back on Tuesday, June 14, the first of the summer’s glamorous evening meetings.
The Totepool Beverley Bullet Day, the course’s most prestigious raceday of the season showcasing only the fastest horses and top quality racing, takes place on Saturday, August 27 and the following day is A Sunday Hop, with live music and a beer festival, which is a great day out for all the family.
There are a further five afternoon meetings between May and August before things start to wind down.
After a meeting onTuesday, September 14, the season finale is held the following Tuesday.
The course says the £500,000 refurbishments over the winter had already prompted a record number of corporate hospitality guests already booked in for the 2016 season.
