After its most successful Ladies Day so far, Beverley Racecourse is looking to build on the course’s popularity with two more meetings later this month.

More than 11,500 race-goers enjoyed the event last Wednesday and the August Bank Holiday weekend sees two further racing event days.

The Beverley Bullet Raceday on Saturday, August 29, is the most prestigious raceday of the season on the Westwood, showcasing some of the country’s top sprinters

Racing the following day promises to be no less competitive, but there will be plenty of family entertainment off the track.

A Sunday Hop is a family racing event where visitors can enjoy a cask ale accompanied by live music or join in the family entertainment with funfair rides and face painting.

Kate McKee of Beverley Racecourse said: “The team spend so much time and effort planning and delivering the August racing season, we are always thrilled to host successful events for customers.

“It is also really important for Beverley Racecourse to continue to attract visitors to the region, so that local businesses can significantly benefit from the additional trade.

We had a delightful afternoon of horse racing last Wednesday. All the elements came together to make it the most impressive Ladies’ Day to date.

“It was definitely the most stylish afternoon I have ever seen. The fashionable crowd revelled in the sunshine, enjoying the hospitality, great atmosphere and superb racing.”
