Yapham CC has a full programme of indoor coaching sessions for all age groups this winter, and the club is keen to welcome new players of any age or experience, at both senior and junior levels:

Coaching sessions for last year’s junior Under-11s and Under-nines, and any other new young players who would like to come for introductory coaching and some fun games of cricket, will be on Wednesdays from 5.45pm to 6.45pm at Woldgate College Sports Hall starting 26 February – children keen to start learning the game are welcome (all equipment provided).

The coaching sessions for Under-15s, Under-13s and Under-11s wanting to play ‘hard ball’ cricket will be at Burnholme Community College Sports Hall on Fridays from 8pm to 9pm for five weeks from 28 February.

Net sessions for Seniors, Under-17s and Under-15s will be at Burnholme Community College on Tuesdays from 8.30pm to 9.30pm starting on 4 March.

All sessions will be led by the club’s ECB qualified coaches.

This season, Yapham will be running two Saturday teams, the first XI in York Senior League and the second XI in the York Vale League, plus a Foss Evening League team on Wednesday evenings and several friendlies on Sundays.

The Under-17s will once again be competing in the East Yorkshire Junior Cricket League, with the aim to help players make the transition from junior to senior cricket, and at junior level there will be teams at U15s, U13s, U11s and U9s - children of all abilities and experience are welcome.

With an increasing number of very keen girls, including some now playing in East Yorkshire Girls teams - and a Yapham Ladies team - we are keen to encourage girls as well as boys to try cricket.
