A PINT-SIZED event will make a return to a village this weekend to help boost funds for the local football club.
The Wilberfoss Beer Festival was launched two years ago and proved a success, so organisers are hoping ale enthusiasts will return to the sports and social club this Saturday to sample further tipples.
Free to enter, there will be eight beers on offer and four ciders. Organisers are hoping to boost funds by arranging for a funfair to help make it a family affair. Last year more than £2,000 was taken across the bar and hopes are high this year’s event can top that.
The proceeds of the day will go towards the project to improve the changing facilities at the football club, specifically the shower and toilet facilities.
Sarah Wills, spokesperson for the club said: “We had a positive meeting with the Football Foundation recently and, with the funds already raised now at £55,000, we’re hopeful that the changes to the toilet and changing room facilities can go ahead before long.”
The beer festival will begin at 4pm, and the sports and social club on Storking Lane will be open as usual.
The funfair is due to run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
