Goalless draw for Panthers

York Mitchell Sports League under-10s Div 1A

This week was set to be another tough week for the boys, after playing last year’s league winners last week, this week saw them facing last year’s league runners-up away from home.

Panthers again started well, showing a lot of confidence and composure on the ball, looking more like the home team than Easingwold.

Ryan, getting some early play on the ball, linked up very well with Luke in midfield who was feeding Josh up front, who once again looked very dangerous.

Panthers forced three throws in quick succession from the home team who were looking very nervous. From one of these, Josh set Will free who made room for himself well and was unlucky to see his shot going just wide. Josh was then unlucky to shoot just over the bar.

Panthers again pushed forward, Jamie releasing Josh who fed Will who, this time, had his shot deflected over the bar. From the resulting corner, Luke was unlucky to have his shot cleared off the line.

That saw the end of the first half with Panthers unlucky to go in at 0-0.

The second half started where the first had finished, with Panthers in control. Charlie, Josh and Will all went close. Easingwold made a rare attack which Marcus saved easily.

Unfortunately it was not to be Panthers’ day in front of goal and, despite bossing the game, it finished 0-0, which was a good result given the quality of the opposition.
