On Saturday 21 January, West Wolds Branch of the Labour Party held a street stall in Pocklington as part of a national day of action in support of the NHS.
We spoke to many local residents with serious concerns about the present Government’s commitment to the NHS, and serious concerns that the Conservative Party wants to gradually privatise the health service.
The branch members would like to thank all the residents who spent time talking to party members, and took away postcards to send to Health Service Minister Jeremy Hunt, expressing those concerns.
The NHS is a vitally needed national institution, and is the envy of many other countries, but it must get the funding it deserves and needs.
The Labour Party created the NHS to care for us all, now it’s time to care for the NHS
Chairman, West Wolds Branch of the Labour Party
