Letter: Investing in flood defences would be worth debts

Andy Strangeway (Voice of Pocklington, December 30) is right . They should be looking at what to do with the beck before it gets to Pocklington. We were saying that a long time ago.

The “can’t do it” brigade has always been there, and for the flood defences some debt may have to be taken on. They would get it back if it stops the flooding.

We are already in debt with the Oak House first floor renovations by £60,000 and another cafe will not bring that back. They get their priorities wrong.
