Pocklington Tangent 577 recently handed over the running of their group to members of Pocklington and Market Weighton Ladies Circle.

Pockington Tangent is part of the National Associate of Tangent Clubs and their main objective is to continue the friendships made within the Ladies Circle and help the Circle when required to do so.

Tangent has been running locally since 1981 and Jeanne Wilson handed over to new chairperson, Kate Blackmore, at their recent dinner.

Kate said: “I am really excited about becoming the new chairperson of Pocklington Tangent. The ladies have done a really good job at building Tangent up and I look forward to continuing Tangent locally.”

Membership of Tangent is open to anyone who has previously been a member of Ladies Circle.

Chairperson of Pocklington and Market Weighton Ladies Circle, Justine Scrowston, said: “Pocklington and Market Weighton Ladies Circle has been running for 47 years and most members are now at the stage to move into Tangent.

“We are looking for new members aged between 18 and 45, with the main aim of fun, friendship and fundraising. “Whether you’re new to your area, or are just looking to broaden your social life, your local Ladies Circle group is a perfect way of getting more out of life. I wish Kate and her ladies much success with Tangent.”
