A spring fete has been hailed a success after raising nearly £700 for the Pocklington Canal Amenity Society Restoration Appeal.
The fete, held on Sunday, began with the exciting news that the fundraising project to restore two locks and two miles of the canal had reached the £120,000 mark.
The weather encouraged plenty of people to visit Pocklington’s Canal Head to enjoy the sunshine and the diverse stalls offering craft gifts, the Pocklington Canal Amenity Society merchandise portable shop, the bric-a-brac and plant stall and many more.
A spokesperson for the society said: “The fete was a great success. For many the event allowed a further opportunity to experience Canal Head in glorious sunshine but many visitors came along for the first time and were suitably impressed.”
