Burnby Hall Gardens were in celebratory mood at the weekend as the Mini Big Band provided a swing music concert to celebrate 50 years of the Stewart Trust.

The concert, last Saturday evening, was the culmination of Pocklington’s iconic Gardens’ celebrations to mark the establishment of the Trust set up to administer them in 1964.

A large and appreciative crowd of more than 300 people enjoyed a variety of popular numbers ranging from ‘Mack the Knife’, ‘I Get A Kick Out of You’ and ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ to swing takes on modern classics such as Radiohead’s ‘Creep’.
