Green-fingered youngsters from schools across the area have been putting their gardening skills to good use to mark Burnby Hall Gardens’ Golden Jubilee celebrations.
A central element of the Gardens’ celebrations this year is the involvement of local children.
Major Percy Stewart, who owned Burnby Hall between 1901 and his death in 1962, was always someone who supported local children and, as a consequence, it has always been seen as essential that young people are featured in this important event at Pocklington’s iconic Gardens.
The most high profile evidence of this is the creation of nine children’s Golden Jubilee gardens currently on display there.
