The Yorkshire Wolds Landscape: Past, Present and Future conference will be held at the Wolds Heritage Centre, Warter on Saturday 8 October at 10am. Visit place.uk.com for more details.
Richard Myerscough, one of the organisers of the event, said: “The conference we are holding at Warter will deal with different aspects of the Wolds landscape.
“There will be speakers on the geology of the Wolds, their archaeology and ecology as well as farms and farming today. We have to realise that while the Wolds are a fabulous place for a holiday or to enjoy the countryside, they are also a working environment.
“Striking that balance between past and present, work and play, will be one of the key themes of the day.”
The conference is hosted by PLACE, a research centre dedicated to the Yorkshire landscape and supported by York St John University.
