The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced that the carriageway improvement works along the C8 road between North Cave and Market Weighton which began on Monday 17 July, 2017, have now been completed and the road has reopened.
The road has been closed 24 hours a day for the full duration of the scheme, because of the nature of the work involved, and to allow a safe working environment for the workforce.
The works were carried out by C R Reynolds Ltd on behalf of the council.
Traffic normally using the C8 had been diverted via the A1034 South Cave, Sancton and the A1079 Market Weighton.
An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “We thank motorists in the area for their patience during the road closure whilst we carried out significant improvements to this route.
“We apologise that the works and the road closure lasted longer than we had originally anticipated, which was due to the need to carry out additional unforeseen drainage works near North Cliffe.”
