Weighton homes plan is refused

Plans to build five new homes in Market Weighton have been refused.

The planning application for the new homes on Holme Road was referred to East Riding Council’s planning committee following a resolution to approve it at the local authority’s western area sub committee meeting on 1 April. However, the planning committee refused the plans as four of the houses towards the head of a cul-de-sac would be located within a site allocated in the East Riding Local Plan as a housing site, and proposals are required to form all or part of an acceptable comprehensive scheme for the site.
