Representatives of Co-Op stores throughout the UK held a special presentation day recently to showcase the funding that had been made possible by the shoppers nominating their local beneficiaries and one of the worthy causes to benefit was a Stamford Bridge.

The village hall received £4,523.18 towards the restoration of the facility’s car park which has been deteriorating for many years.

The village hall committee chairman James Rossdale, who was presented with the cheque by Barbara Cooper, the Co-Op team manager, said: “On the day, a display was put up in the store to illustrate the first part of the work, the provision of waste water drainage which is essential before the full project can be carried out in the summer of 2019.”
