Two short talks at group’s meeting

There will be two short talks at the next meeting of the Pocklington and District Local History Group on 18 June.

Geraldine Mulcahy, Burnby Hall’s Heritage Lottery Fund project officer, will speak about ‘Burnby Hall Gardens, its history and heritage, past, present and developing the future’. She will describe some of the challenges faced in interpreting the history and heritage of the gardens and the plans for the future.

‘Pocklington & The Great Charter - local links to Magna Carta 800 years on’ will be the title of the second subject, which will be presented by Phil Gilbank. The meeting will be at the old courthouse, George Street, Pocklington at 7.30pm. Admission fee is £2.
