The 197 Pocklington Town Bus Service, which is returning, has been expanded to include Broadmanor.

The popular Pocklington town bus service, which is supported by the town council, is set to resume on Tuesday, June 22.

The 197 service has also been expanded to include Broadmanor and Garths End.

The service, which runs on Tuesdays and Fridays, starts at the bus depot before visiting Broadmanor, The Oval,Chapmangate, Sherbuttgate, Garths End/AlGarth, the depot, West Green and the depot again.

The town mayor Richard Bryon and town crier Geoff Sheasby will be out and about on Tuesday, June 15, publicising the service and distributing timetables.

Councillor Bryon said: “I feel it is essential to help elderly and non-car drivers easier access to town centre to use the shops and services in Pocklington.

“The free at the point of use bus service (free to all users) helps residents to do that especially on Market day when parking is limited.

“Everyone at Pocklington Town Council are pleased to support this service.”
