Pocklington is revving up for a full day of motoring fun and fundraising for good causes.
Classic car enthusiasts and those just interested in seeing cars from yesteryear have a day to look forward to this Sunday (30 August), with not one, but two big classic and vintage car extravaganzas.
On West Green, the North of England Classic and Pre-War Automobiles club and Pocklington Town Council will be presenting their Nostalgia Rally, featuring more than 50 classic and vintage cars between 10.30am and 4pm.
Admission to this annual event is free, but the organisers have invited Friends of Pocklington Arts Centre to collect voluntary donation to support the town’s thriving Arts Centre that will see major improvement works get under way in October.
Having whetted their appetites, people can then venture out to the Pocklington Rotary Club Classic Car Show at Langlands Garden Centre where almost 80 classic and vintage cars will be on show.
Once again, admission is free and people are invited to make a donation to a Prostate Cancer charity.
