Pocklington Town Council is set to appeal the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s decision to delay the repair of the problematic footpath on West Green until next year.
The town council sent a letter to East Riding Council regarding the improvements to the footpath near the new doctors’ surgery, the road’s speed limit and to trim some trees which it says is obscuring the street lights. The letter was met with a response from East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Richard Alderson stating the footpath would be in next year’s budget.
The Town Council will now ask for a meeting with East Riding Council to discuss the issue they feel needs to be dealt with “immediately”.
Coun Perry said: “The town council are concerned about the rapidly deteriorating state of the road that is now the main feeder road to the new surgery for patients.”
